Water Warriors host Water Walk on June 6
SAVE THE DATE! Water Warriors United is hosting a community Water Walk on June 6th starting at West Park on the north end of Lake Ave in downtown White Bear Lake. There will be local vendors, educational booths, and more. The 1-mile Water Walk and event is free, however there will be an opportunity to make a donation to fund a future water project. Participants will have an opportunity to carry water and experience what many communities across the world do just to get clean water for their homes. All ages are welcome!
Water Warriors United is a group of high school and middle school students who share the mission: To create a culture of water conservation and to inspire our community to take actions to solve the global water crisis. And thanks to a generous MDE Race2Reduce Grant, the Water Warriors are able to host events like the Water Walk.
The group has also started a podcast and recently published their first episode. DOWNLOAD or STREAM today! For up to date details, follow on Instagram @waterwarriorsunited and/or Facebook @waterwarriorsunited1. WBLAHS - South Campus Outdoor Learning Lab Coming Soon!
On March, 20 a group of 25 Environmental Club volunteers, WBL Career Pathways, and Manley Gardening & Landscape, LLC came together to clean up the WBLAHS - South Campus Peace Garden. The MDE Race2Reduce Grant is supporting the redevelopment of the outdoor space that has sat vacant for many years. The WBLAHS - South Campus Environmental Club will leave a legacy for years to come by creating a sustainable and environmentally friendly outdoor learning lab that all students and staff can use. We look forward to sharing the final results in June 2021! If you would like to support the Environmental Club, please email Amy Donlin at email@example.com.
