McGough Construction Hosts Women In Trades Event

March was Women's History Month and WBL Career Pathways enjoys honoring future women leaders. On March 23, McGough Construction brought Civil Engineer, Emily Huberty; Architect, Andrea Hammel Wollak; and Project Manager, Katie Steele to meet with Career Pathway participants who are interested in a variety of skilled trades in automotive, architecture, design, manufacturing, construction, and engineering. They enjoyed lunch with the students, shared their career paths, emphasized the need for women in the skilled trades, and empowered the future female leaders to pursue skilled trades after high school. Thank you to Karin McCabe from McGough Construction for helping us plan such a great event!

WBLAHS Black Excellence Club visits MN Science Museum

WBL Career Pathways is honored to provide grant funding in partnership with the Vadnais Heights Area Community Foundation (VHACF) to support the Black Excellence Club's (BEC) desire to learn about STEM Careers this year. This month, the learning continued when 50 WBLAHS students visited the MN Science Museum. Students explored interactive exhibits filled with stories about sciences, cultures, discoveries, and the people who observe and analyze the world. From exhibits like RACE: Are We So Different, which shares the lived experiences and history of people of color and the science behind race, to the Dinosaurs & Fossils gallery, where fossil remains showcase the scale and biodiversity of ancient life on Earth. Yay for STEM!
