Congratulations to the Gen Z Connections Graduates!

Another year in the books for our Gen Z Connections program! This year, 7 WBLAHS students completed the 4-week internship. Noah Ames Rupert, Isaac Debilzan, John Kalos, and Aiden Sandbakken completed the Manufacturing & Engineering experience with MME Group Inc., Teamvantage Molding LLC, and Westfall Technik. Rosemary Hammond, Austin Stiles, and Vincent Yang completed the Automotive experience with Fairway Collision & Automotive, Walser Polar Chevrolet, and Walser Polar Mazda.

We are super thankful for our local employers who showed up and persevered with us throughout the pandemic. Not only were students offered more hours during the internship experience, but most of our students were offered employment after completion! A big congrats to 2021 Graduate, Austin Stiles, who accepted a full-time position at Fairway Collision & Automotive.

The Gen Z Connections program is successful thanks to the support from Vadnais Heights Economic Development Corporation, our local employers, Music Video Photo, and MN DLI's Youth Skills Training Program. We also collaborated with multiple school districts this year to offer the opportunity to more students across the NE Metro. Thank you to everyone for working together to shape the future.

WBLAHS Students Benefit from St. Paul College Summer Camps

2021 has been a great summer for our emerging Career Pathway students. Thanks to the generous support of Vadnais Heights Economic Development Corporation, MN DLI, and anonymous donors, over 30 WBLAHS Students were able to attend St. Paul College Summer Camps thanks to partial or fully-funded scholarships!

Students ages 13 through 17 attended the Advanced Manufacturing Camp, Scrubs Camp, or Video Design Camp at St. Paul College this year. Programs like these put the why in education and help students connect what they are learning in the classroom to the world of work.
