Tapping Maple Trees

Tapping Maple Trees

Middle and high school students in the Nation to Nation Affinity Group are tapping maple trees to make syrup as an American Indian Education Program activity.

Bags were placed on numerous trees outside District Center to collect the sap. The project teaches students about maple trees, the sap retrieval process, and steps that go into making maple syrup. See this project come to life in a recent video issue of the district's The Week in 62.4 Seconds.
