Architectural Design 1

This course is an introduction to architectural design. Students will design their own home based on a location they choose. Course content will focus mainly on residential design but will also make connections to commercial architectural design requirements. Students will be working with computer-aided design software to develop concepts and present design solutions for class assignments. Using real-time modeling software, students will develop an increased visual perception and understanding of designs through 2-D and 3-D formats. Students will also create a ¼ scale model of their design. Student portfolios will be used to present and evaluate coursework.

This course satisfies the Art requirement.
