This course focuses on the application and legal principles of our laws to enhance students’ ability to use critical thinking skills to solve legal problems. A wide range of court cases, both current and historical, are used to help students learn about how our legal system has developed over time. A field trip to the Hennepin County Courthouse will give students a personal view of our laws and courts in action. Mock trials are the culminating activity in which students can demonstrate the principles and legal concepts learned.
