Course Number: HS2726

Learn to WELD and make things that include metal, wood, plastic, and other materials. Start your journey to becoming a Maker or Creator. This course will introduce students to the foundation skills in machining, welding, manufacturing, and engineering career disciplines through hands-on learning experiences and projects. Learn both manual and CNC machine control skills. Learn welding skills on a welding simulator and real welding machines. Instructional areas will include accuracy of print reading, use of precision measuring instruments, use of Computer Aided Design and Modeling, and benchwork applications and operations. These technical skills are a necessity for any student who has a desire to enter engineering or manufacturing careers. Combine this course with HS2727 to develop an even greater skill set for yourself. There are great career opportunities for people who have technical skills related to manufacturing and engineering.

There may be a cost of materials fee for any take-home assignment.

College credit may be available through Hennepin Technical College.
