Child Development

This course prepares students for occupations and higher education programs related to the spectrum of child-centered careers. Students will study the physical, intellectual, emotional, and social growth of children. This class is the first in a series of child development classes that will focus on pregnancy, childbirth, newborns, infants, and toddlers. Additionally, students will explore different ways to work with and how to effectively care for children at different ages. Students will also have the opportunity to practice caring for an infant by taking a Real Care infant simulator home overnight.
