Civil Engineering and Architecture (CEA) focuses on a long-term development project at a local property site. Students apply what they learn about civil engineering and architecture to the design and development of this property, as a simulation of the real-world experiences of civil engineers and architects. CEA is a specialization course within the Project Lead the Way (PLTW) sequence. The course allows students to have a variety of experiences, hands-on projects, and activities fundamental to learning the characteristics of civil engineering and architecture. Upon meeting the requirements of this course and passing the PLTW exam, students may earn three college credits through St. Cloud State University. College credit may also be available through Minnesota community and technical colleges.
