This course provides an introduction to Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machining, CNC Milling: programming, setup, and operation of all things CNC through hands-on learning experiences and projects. This automation of machine control is an essential element to the success of modern-day manufacturing and engineering practices. Students will learn CNC applications on industry-standard software and machines from manufacturers such as HAAS, Tormach, Autodesk, and Mastercam. Any student considering a career in engineering, designing, or being a “maker” should enroll in this course. Combine this course with HS2729 to develop career skills in the areas of manufacturing and engineering. Articulated credits may be available through Minnesota community and technical colleges with successful completion of course work at the acceptable level of the partnering technical college.

There may be a cost of materials fee for any take home assignment.
