Engine Repair is an exciting entry-level course that will ignite your passion for the transportation industry. Throughout this course, students will gain a strong understanding of engine fundamentals and service procedures. Through practical lessons, students will explore four-cycle engine theory, construction, operation, troubleshooting, inspection, service, rebuilding, and repair. By the end of the course, students will be able to recondition a single-cylinder four-cycle engine ranging from 3 to 20 horsepower. Additionally, students will learn and demonstrate safe work habits and exhibit ethics consistent with occupational standards. The course content is aligned with Automotive Service Excellence's area A1: Engine Repair, ensuring a comprehensive and industry-relevant learning experience. This introductory course is highly recommended for students who enjoy working with their hands, are curious about the inner workings of a four-stroke engine or interested in taking automotive technology courses.
