Foods and Nutrition

This introductory food course will allow students the opportunity to gain confidence in the kitchen and learn basic cooking skills while collaborating with peers in the food lab. Students will also learn the basics of nutrition and how to make healthy food choices to meet their personal needs throughout their lives. Students will also have the opportunity to strengthen their cooking skills as we explore a variety of cooking methods and techniques in food labs. Students will leave this course with a stronger understanding of how to make positive food choices, and how to prepare foods in a variety of ways.
